This is one policy you surely won’t miss!
Official Work Timings are from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Without exception, while we work from home or office, you will have access to the current office systems during work hours only. Should you [for some strange reason] willingly wish to work / come to office on a Sunday, or other than your roster days, a prior written approval from your manager with an intimation to the Human Resources team will be required.
Our clients start their day earlier and hence, all team members are expected to be in the office / logged in to their respective systems by 10:00 a.m. every day at the latest. This not only ensures prompt response but lets us start the day right.
On days when you are Working from Home, it is necessary to inform your line manager in case you are inaccessible for a brief period. In situations when you need to step away for more than an hour from your desk during official work hours, we recommend that you apply for a half day instead. Approval from your line managers before you inform the team is the ideal way to operate in any and all situations.
On days when you are expected to be in the office as per your roster, and you choose to work from home, a prior discussion and approval from your line manager is required before informing the team.
By process, failing to apply for leaves or informing the team prior to leave approval from the manager, will lead to incorrect and irreversible month-end payroll payouts.
All full-time team members, including interns, are eligible for a total of 32 working days of leave during a particular year - April to March, calculated pro-rata from your date of joining the company. For consultants, please refer to the leave clause mentioned in your contract or agreement. Considering the new normal, these leaves are outlined as 21 working days of planned leave [excluding Saturdays and Sundays], 1 day on your birthday*, and up to 10 pre-determined company holidays.
*If your birthday falls on a holiday [Saturday, Sunday, or a predetermined company holiday], then you have the choice to take a one-day leave immediately on a working day that falls before or on the next day of your birthday. However, if your birthday falls on a working day, you cannot avail the birthday leave on any other working day. If you miss applying three days in advance and availing of the leave on time, it will lapse. Now that would rarely happen, wouldn’t it?
Leave can be availed for a minimum of half a day and needs to be approved on the system by your line manager.
To make things simple, when it comes to half-day offs, you can choose either of the following time slots:
First Half: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Second Half: 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
No other time slots are available.
If you think you would rather just take a couple of hours off and not apply for leave, don’t! Take the extra hours in your half day to get some rest or spend time with loved ones. Doing so not only helps you but also helps the team adhere to client commitments better. To help the team plan their work, inform and apply for the half day at least a day in advance. The only exception will be during a medical emergency.
Managers remain the custodians of leave approvals, deciding if a request qualifies for a half day, and are responsible for managing workflows to match client expectations.
The leave policy follows a pro-rata allocation as per the year, i.e., April to March. All team members shall be entitled to leave on a pro-rata basis, even during their probationary period.
This policy is also applicable to a candidate on a ‘Performance Improvement Plan' as part of 'Reignite’ or during their exit, with the exception that block leaves or pre-approved leaves for more than 2 working days will be counted as Leave Without Pay. During the notice period, all planned prorated leaves will cease to accrue, and final calculations will be as outlined in the company Exit Policy.
As Never Grow Up turns 15 this year, management has announced a bonus leaves for all full-time team members, including interns, an addition of 5 working days of leave.
Applicable to enitre OneTeam, these leaves are over and above your annual planned/sick leaves and birthday leaves.
These bonus leaves are ONLY applicable for April 2025 to March 2026, calculated pro-rata from your date of joining the company.
Plan your leaves in advance and take necessary approvals from your line managers before applying them at PH backend.
For consultants, please refer to the leave clause mentioned in your contract or agreement.
All planned leaves for more than three days must be applied for, discussed, and approved one week in advance. For leaves lasting less than three days, the same process will be followed at least three days in advance. The only exception to this rule is in cases of medical emergencies or health-related matters, which would be at the discretion of your line manager.
Your leave is not applicable unless approved of the system by your manager. All leaves taken without approval on the system, if highlighted, will be automatically counted as Leave Without Pay, with no exceptions. Line managers are responsible for prompt closures on approvals sought and effective work planning.
No two members of the same department or working for the same client can take a block of leaves during the same period. This comes strictly on a first-come, first-approved basis to avoid impact on ongoing work.
In case of an emergency, speak to your manager. After leave approval, inform the team. Also, ensure you go through our Work From Home guidelines.
There is no facility to carry forward your leaves or donate them to colleagues during a year.
Only if you end up working on any of the pre-announced holidays or your birthday leave for a minimum of half a day can you avail a compensatory day off within two weeks of missing your leave after a sign-off from your line manager. Comp-offs will expire at the end of two weeks. No exceptions.
We are not huge fans of this. Actually, we prefer not doing this at all. But if you exceed your leave(s) in a year or do not apply for leave using existing systems, leave without pay for those particular working days that are applicable will come into effect even if you turn up to work.
It may be good to note that leave requests in the following scenarios may be rejected, disapproved, or approved as leave without pay:
Requests prior to or immediately post a block leave, a planned leave, or an extension to pre-approved leaves.
On days when the working week has less than 5 working days, there might be a serious impact on work.
When two members of a sub-team or brand need to block leaves during the same time period.
When You Officially Say, “I Do”.
They say it takes a village to plan a wedding. But mostly, the ‘bhasad’ falls on you. It’s only fair that you get some time off to [seamlessly] plan your special day. For starters, you can avail your marriage leave for up to 5 working days over and above the leaves we’ve mentioned. You are expected to apply for your leaves on the peopleHum portal at least 3 weeks in advance. This is to streamline work while you’re officially getting hitched. (Congratulations! :))
Welcome the newest addition to your family.
Parenthood is the beginning of a wonderful new adventure, and we'd love for you to thoroughly embrace every bit of the experience. Our Parental Policy is the best place to find everything that we can offer you during this period.
Peace Be With You.
Sometimes, life brings us to a standstill and throws us into circumstances where coping with the loss of a family member becomes inevitable. In such a case, you are entitled to 5 working days of paid leave over and above all the leaves mentioned. Only in case of bereavement leaves can you share an official request once you join us back.
Family members are defined as parents, children, in-laws, siblings, spouses, and immediate grandparents. You are also entitled to 2 working days of bereavement leave in case of the loss of a family pet.
Leaves are meant for you to attend to your personal life in your own unique way. But if we see you becoming a workaholic, i.e., if almost half your leave is pending, we may decide to send you on a mandatory leave for two weeks. In such a scenario, you will not have access to office facilities or work email, and these two weeks will be deducted as PL on the system. But then, why bring it to this point?
What’s that? It’s when you believe you need to come to work despite having an injury or an illness. If you are feeling unwell, we’d rather you get well soon. Remember, there is always the option to take a half day too. Here’s us reminding you again to take good care of yourself!
Working When You Are Unwell
Here’s the thing. We don’t support this one bit! Either you are fit and prepared to give your best shot at work or you are not. Requests when unwell will not be approved or entertained unless you absolutely [if-I-don’t-the-earth-will-explode] have to! Your discretion remains with your line manager.
Yes! We like client deadlines to be met, but not at the cost of your health. Plus, the chaos that comes with work done when unwell can be catastrophic. What is expected, however, is that you give your manager a heads-up on your situation and see that work and projects are distributed among other members of the team.
There are days when you might need more time away from work to rest and recover. For that, you are required to provide a medical certificate if your medical leaves extend up to 3 days or more. You can submit an original certificate to your manager within 2 days of your joining.
